OK, it’s official now. “We” are going to be making an album. Writing started a while ago but we’re actually going to step on the gas a bit and start churning out some good material since there is something of a deadline coming up. I’ll be sharing more details in the future since I don’t want to give it all away now but to start with…if you liked “Dick Buttons”, you’ll like this record. We will probably sell it on-line so you can get your copy that way if you don’t see us regularly. More to come…

B has been sleeping really well lately. Until 5am 2 days, then 8am and then 4am. This is good for the parents

In softball last night, we lost by 1 again, this time in 8 innings.

Over the weekend we didn’t do a whole lot and I feel so refreshed today :-). I mowed the lawn on saturday and C cleaned up the house but then we relaxed in the afternoon and took a nap. Had some friends over for pizza on the grill in the evening and took the boys to the playground. Sunday we worshipped, went out for lunch, then relaxed all afternoon (played in the sprinkler, etc…) I think we needed that.

I’ve seen 3 movies in the last 2 days. Here are my 1 sentence reviews:

  • Windtalkers: Nice story but the show didn’t know whether it wanted to be a drama, documentary, or action flick.
  • Gone in 60 seconds: Nice light-hearted heist movie with a quasi-moral lesson and decent car chases.
  • The Fast and the Furious: Point Break with street racing in place of surfing.

Last night was beautiful. Not very sunny but very still. G and I went out on the dock and put our feet in the water and enjoyed the stillness.

So what is “Score!” all about? I have used the word for a while now in unconventional ways but over the weekend, a friend demonstrated another. Use it as a term of excellent approval as in “alright!” or “super!”.

Then, on Sunday, G was putting a puzzle together and (I’m not sure where he learned it but probably the same friend) he got done and shouted “SCORE!” so coooool that boy is!

Today’s Rant: You know what’s a scam? The flex plan. Whoever thought of that plan is sitting in his chair yuking it up right now. As much as I think tax deductions are a scam, things would work much better and accomplish the same “goal” if medical expenses had been made tax deductible. The way it is, you are going to always “save” less money than if they were tax deductible. Only a politician could think of that. So here’s the thing. It cost us approximately $X to have G after insurance kicked in so I put $X+X/6 into flex this year, knowing we’d be having B. Well, I forgot that we were using a certified-nurse-midwife this time. The hospital bill for B was only $X/3 after insurance kicked in. Stupid politicians! Now I’m going to lose about $2X/3 to the US National gov’t.

We got my sis-in-law married over the weekend. We got to go to Green Lake and spend the night for preparations. I spent some good time with the guys. C and I both stood up and lots and lots of friends and family came to make sure everything went well. It was a tough job but someone had to do it. Well, it was fun and exhausting. Hopefully, I can get rested up during the week. Phew!

New today: The quotation of the day (qotd). You’ll be seeing some things that I have said or have heard said that I think are at least a little funny. The quotation will change each day and cycle through the set.
