Got to get together with…

Family

Got to get together with family yesterday to celebrate the september birthdays. That was fun. My mom made German chocolate cake and apple crisp. We had brats and hamburgers.

We’re still trying to decide whether or not to find out the baby’s sex. He/she is definitely growing.

We went to the “I still Do” marriage enrichment conference in Chicago on Saturday. I think our marriage will be enriched but only time will tell. (It’s pretty rich already :). Our cousin’s husband Brian, who is from Florida, was there and he didn’t even tell us so we could say hey.

Last night we had C’s…

Family

Last night we had C’s dad over. It was his birthday. We had steaks on the grill. Pretty good for my first time doing them. Could have been a little better but not bad.

We are going to put G in a real bed soon. That will be an adventure.

It was nice to see so many people at our worship service on sunday. I’m sure it was that way all over the country. I hope we start to learn that we need to turn back to God

The good news is that…

Family

The good news is that we had a vacation last week. We got to go to Mackinac Island. Mostly the sights are historical in nature so there were a lot of museums and some archeology going on. G did great and we had a good time away from it all.

Today back at work wasn’t too bad. A little slow back into the swing of things but tomorrow is another day 🙂

For those who don’t know…

Family

For those who don’t know yet, a bonus for visiting this site is on the way: We’re having a baby! I guess we can start telling people now. [He?] should be ready to be born for the first time in late March or early April of 2002.

In other news, we went to the fair last night and got to see all the horses, cattle, swine, chickens, pheasants, goats, sheep, etc… Of course G enjoyed it and we did too. G got his hand slightly bitten by a horse, which he didn’t like.

C, G, and I took…

Adventures, Family

C, G, and I took a ride in an airplane last night. It was a helio-courier which is used for by Jungle Aviation And Radio Service (JAARS) for transporting missionaries around jungles and remote areas. Great fun! G enjoyed it a lot and we got plenty of pictures. The pilot’s name was David and he has been in South America for 20 years and will be in the States starting this year. We’ll post some pics when the time comes…

Wow has it been hot…

Family

Wow has it been hot these last couple of weeks. In the 90s every day. Last night we went swimming with G. He enjoys the water so much. It was a great cool-down. The boy is so filled with energy. He rarely stops.

We walked to the pool and back and had a chance to enjoy the summer evening with the birds and the breeze and the summer evening noises. Life is good.

Tonight we’re going to check out missions at the airport. Over near the prison there’s an air strip so we’re going to see the airplanes. G really loves that (I do to :). Stay tuned…
