Yesterday I went to lunch…

Family

Yesterday I went to lunch with my family. G had to go to the bathroom. I explained to him that we were going to use the Men’s room. He pointed at the other bathroom and said:

“Is that the grills?”

“Yes it is. The girls”

“And this is the guys?”

“Yes”

After we got back to the table he said:

“Are mommies mens?”

“No”

“Are mommies womens?”

“Yes they are. They’re women. And what are daddies?”

“Daddies are men!”

It’s interesting to me: …

Adventures

It’s interesting to me: I took a week off from work but since I didn’t really have anything to do during that week I think I got a little down in the dumps. When I went back to work I couldn’t believe how much better I felt! There’s something about work that makes me feel good.

We went into the “studio” on friday and started recording. Things went really quickly considering that we spent over 1/4 of our time on setup. Props to Mike F. for the use of the “studio”

I tried out a burger…

Observations

I tried out a burger from Tom’s Drive-in this week. Pretty good burger. Nice flame-broiled taste. Good Price.

A random thought follows: People have been using the term anal a lot recently. As in, “he’s really anal about his lunch break.” But I have a question. If someone is anal, does that make him an anus? …Just wondering.

Well, I did something really…

Adventures

Well, I did something really dumb 2 nights ago. I shot my rifle without ear protection. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem to take a few shots without ear protection. People do it all the time. But for some reason my left ear wasn’t working very well after the first shot. It’s not 100% yet but it is slowly returning to normal.

Wow, I haven’t posted very…

Family

Wow, I haven’t posted very frequently lately. I really have no excuse, just haven’t thought much about it. In case you were wondering, the boys are doing great. G is so smart and really B is too (I can tell already :). G is beginning to learn his letters and numbers already!

Of course we went duck hunting a few weeks ago (one day only) but didn’t see much. But it was a beautiful day and fun to get outside for a few hours.

I have successfully removed the batteries from most of the boys toys (Read my rant from 9/8 to find out why) and I think it’s a success. G is being more creative at play time and B is no less interested in his toys. Yeah!

I watched 2 movies recently…. -…

Opuses

I watched 2 movies recently….

– The Rookie: A very well done baseball movie that I enjoyed thoroughly and would be happy to watch with my young son.

– The Count of Monte Cristo: Most of the story was fine and followed the themes and spirit of the book just fine (Dantes’ revenge was the main point). But the movie ends completely opposite the book. Dantes learns forgiveness in the movie and thus gets Mercedes back, but if you’ve read the book you know he doesn’t learn to forgive so he can’t have Mercedes. The movie brings God into the equation a lot more than the book and this makes the forgiveness more credible but I like the way the book gets the point across better. The scenery was great and the action scenes had some great shots which made it enjoyable but the ending had a high cheese factor. Everybody that I’ve talked to who’s read the book didn’t like the movie and everyone I’ve talked to who hasn’t read the book like the movie. So there you have it.

So yesterday I tried McDonalds…

Observations

So yesterday I tried McDonalds “grown-up” burger, the big n’ tasty. Given that McDonalds food is pretty cheap and this burger was on special for $1, I’m okay with this burger. The beef was fairly dry but the veggies weren’t bad. The pickles were somewhat bland. Probably worth the price I paid.

Also, last night I checked out a game I haven’t played in a few years, gearheads. It’s a great game, very playable since it can be played in 2 player mode. It’s like a game of chess with wind up toys. You should try it out some time
